Since there is no school on Thursday for us here due to teacher inservices, we are having our class Valentine's parties today. I get to attend and help out in the class for the party and was in charge of treats for the kids. I found this great idea and though it would be fun and fairly simple and inexpensive to do. Though not as time consuming as the reindeer candy bars I made at Christmas, these did take a little time and prep work. Not too bad though.
These are rice krispy treats kisses. Just make your usual krispy treat recipe, but instead of dumping it in a pan like usual....you get out a NEW funnel that hasn't ever been used and put some in there. Using LOTS of Pam spray to keep things from getting sticky, fill the funnel with the cereal mxture and then turn it over onto wax paper. Press it firmly down to squish the cereal into the funnel form and then lift off funnel. You should end up with a cone shaped rice krispy treat. I got 6 small kisses per batch of krispy treats. Let the kisses set up and then wrap with foil. Tah dah!
I wasn't planning on putting the little strips of paper in them but he was sure that no one would know what they were if I didn't. Whatever. :0)
