The Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gordon B. Hinckley, has passed away. Apparently sick for some time, he is now with his loving wife, Marjorie.
Hinckley has been in the church Presidency for most of my life. His humor and optimism inspired many to "carry on". We offer our deepest sympathies and prayers to his family. He truly was a GREAT man.
He will be missed.

I'm so sad for us. Isn't that selfish? I loved him! He had such a great sense of humor. He definitely will be missed.
I know this may sound weird but I am not sad. He lived a long, good and honorable life and has gone home to join his wife. We could all be so fortunate to say something similar at the end of our lives.
Jane,
I understand what you mean about not being sad. I'm not sad for him. He lived a wonderful life and we all know how sad he was when his wife passed. I'm just sad at the thought of him not being there in April. He's never NOT been there for me. But I do understand. I hope that the same can be said for me when I pass.
