Winter Blahs

I have them...
Cooped up inside to stay warm. Nowhere to go {unless you count PTA meetings, church, Target, basketball games, piano lessons, or the grocery store. But honestly...I don't think that counts as GOING SOMEWHERE you know?}
I am in desperate need of something FABULOUS to get my spirits up. Wouldn't it be so much fun to get all dressed up and go to {fill in the blank}? I have always wondered why there wasn't a prom for adults around here. I would have a blast. And though I wouldn't look as skinny and cute as this girl here...I'd love to wear this dress. Super formal, black, Audrey Hepburn-ish. I want to get all dolled up, be taken someplace FABULOUS for a magical night on the town.
But alas...I live in Twin Falls, Idaho. Nothing fabulous here, nothing to even get dressed up for unless you are 16 and in high school. Sniff. So, the blahs will continue.
Do you guys have anything fun you do to get rid of the blahs? I'm open to suggestions!

I don't have any suggestions, but I LOVE that dress!

We like to turn on Phantom, get in our princess dresses and dance. Even Austin likes to dance with us. It's fun and you can still wear your prom dress! Then you need to make Jaysenn take you out. When the highschool has a big fancy dance just get dressed up and pretend like you are one of them, Cam and I are going to do that for prom this year and I can't wait!!!

Yay Holly! I've missed you! Maybe I can convince Jaysen...we'll see....my problem is that I want to do something NOW! Get fancy...go SOMEWHERE. The problem is where. Sigh.

Ya, sorry I've been busy! Ryan leaves on Wednesday for his mission so we've had a lot going on.

Anyways.....Tell Jaysen to take you out to a fancy shmancy restaurant so you can dress up. People will probably be trying to figure out if you're rich and famous. Tell him he also has to bring you flowers when he picks you up!!

That is a beautiful dress. I say get one and where it to church one Sunday. Just check out the looks you'll get.

I say get an overnight sitter, head to SLC. Stay at the Grand America hotel (where your dress would fit right in) and go out to dinner someplace fabulous (not Wendy's). Then stroll through the city with your hubby on your arm.

Nothing beats the doldrums like a weekend away!

Darling, why not have a HUGE party and invite all your friends and dress up. I bet a hundred women want some excuse to dress up. DO IT DO IT DO IT!

I love that dress, and I like the SLC idea, that would be fun. It is too bad there really aren't any really fancy restaurants here in Twin, Jakers has even casualed up. I think you need a cruise, I have never been on one, but you could dress up and dance all night, but that really doesn't solve the immediate need does it. I'm not much help, sorry.

Getting fancied up gives me hives. I can suggest something more low key though. How about a manicure?

Holly,
There are NO fancy restaurants around here. That's my prob. :0)

Bridget,
You forget...I teach Primary...That would be tricky, formal wear and five year olds..hmmm... lol

Stie,
A weekend away sounds fabulous. But unfortunately our next available weekend isn't until mid-March due to Jaysen coaching Landon's basketball team.

Alicia,
A cruise huh? I've been trying to convince Jaysen to go on one of those for a year now. He won't leave Kenzee for that long. Refer to the "sucker" post on my burnham-blog. :0)

Jane,
Honestly, a manicure sounds wonderful. A little pampering never hurt anyone. :0)

Sassy,
Will you come to my party? Honestly, I was thinking about maybe planning something when the basement was done. I just wasn't sure if people would go for it. :0)

Wow, just read my very pessimistic post. How bah humbug of me! I really do have the blahs. Sigh. Thanks for all the suggestions! I appreciate them! :0)

Take a bubble bath. Read a good book. Cook some cozy food. Listen to great music.

Then plan that party!
